Can anyone recommend me some gloves which are actually waterproof? I bought some from a Triumph dealer months ago and used them on my Mod 1 today in the pouring rain. They were saturated by the time I reached the test centre.

Really effects confidence, not to mention I was freezing and my fingers were numb and starting to turn blue!

As close to £100.00 if poss.

Edit - I was told they are waterproof by the guy in the shop before anyone asks! :)

I had some dianese scout evos goretex and one of the few winter gloves with hard knuckle protection. Ridden in all sorts of conditions and they never let the water in, cost me 110 quid as a impulse buy in j&s when it was ****ing down. Probably cheaper on line.

Oh and I had a motorway off in them they held up well only a slight tear in the back of the right thumb where the handlebars where snapped back across them so hard they dented the tank.

Hands though we're completely unhurt

Oh and being goretex they have to meet all of goretex quality standard too.

Think they do a version now with a hard palm slider for schafoid (spelling) protection

I have a cheap pair off ebay, had them about 4 or 5 years and they are waterproof

they have an inner white polythene lining in them, but the age of them they are beginning to break down now and are getting abit nippy when its really cold winter

any top brand labelled as a winter glove should be fine, but look for all the labels goretex/thinsulate ect to keep you warm/dry

I have these at the moment and they have held up very well in downpours on my 40min commute. They come in well under budget especially as they have £10 off at the moment @ £60

Only trick I've learnt, in the rain, put them inside your sleeves of your jacket, otherwise the water just runs/wicks down into them and they do then get wet inside. Since wearing them inside my sleeves they've been 100% waterproof and are holding up well (no wear) in the two months of everyday riding.

Yup, always this, otherwise the water will run off your arm and into the glove. I actually wouldn't mind a new winter jacket with bigger sleeves. My gloves do fit inside my current one, but it's a pain as it's a velcro cuff type thing to tighten it up which is hard to use with gloves on. A decent zip up the arm would be good like my summer jacket has.

OP, if I was buying again, I would get these: http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/245815. I'm a massive fan of Alpinestars gloves, don't know why I didn't get some instead of the ones above. I guess I was basing my buy off reviews more than looks/brand. Those Alpinestars are new, so no reviews yet, but they look good.
Having said that, for that price you might want to find a goretex glove.

I've got some Richa Cold Protect Gore-Tex and I'm really happy with them. Second season of use coming up, but they lasted all winter last year (with heated grips, be aware on long journeys you'd need more). Never had wet hands once with them.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Although I'm a big Alpinestars fan, I really like the Richa's posted by Participant.

Test results on getgeared.co.uk say it all:
Test results:
Test 1 Resistance test: 10/10
Test 2 Cold test: 10/10
Test 3 Waterproofing: 10/10
Test 4 Wet/dry weight test: 7/10
Test 5 Road test: 8/10
Overall: 45/50

Think I'll be ordering a pair - a penny under budget too! :)

Knox Zero's - they've now been replaced by the Zero 2's but I really liked them as a year round glove. They aren't the warmest but they never let water in. The down side is the leather does take on water but I Renapur them regularly.

I recently (literally yesterday) got a pair of Richa Sonar gloves

Very similar to the cold protect, only you can adjust the cuff so its a lot smaller which is great for tucking into jackets :)

Has anyone used heated gloves? Considering getting some for my trip to uni which is 45 miles mostly on the M6, I've got heated grips but they don't do much unless in town.

I bought some Dainese Evo Scout Goretex gloves but they were just too bulky and wrinkled up on my palm.

My regular 3-season gloves (Dainese Frazer) are great but not waterproof - Can anybody recommend something in the middle that is water/wind proof but not super thick?
