Waterproof walking trousers

Revolution race trousers

their kit is really good and good value always discount codes knocking around

ive got 3 pairs of their trousers fit is really good and they look smart if entering a pub or somewhere to eat etc

Average money for high-end water-resistant (but not proof) kit, really. I'd suggest UF Pro for actually waterproof outdoor kit, but their Monsoon range starts at around £350.

The problem with waterproof and even DWR kit is that you'll usually sweat and end up getting soaked that way. GoreTex is breathable, but the damp can still only evaporate so fast, after which you'll start getting wet.

Simond alpinism trousers from decathlon, are very hard to beat.
Doubt they're 100% waterproof, but they've handled everything I've thrown at them.
Very popular with hikers and climbers alike.

I've been eyeing fjallraven for a bit , but have not used them unfortunately.

G1000 + wax are amazing. I pretty much solely only wear their trousers.

The Greenland jeans are great.

You can adapt how water resistant the trousers are with a bit of wax and heat. Wash it out and they’ll be more breathable.

As others have said, gore tex is the way to go if you want water proof. I use mountain equipment trousers - they’re probably over trousers but they have pockets on the side and they can be worn on their own.

I'm a huge fan of G1000 and its derivatives. Likewise I've used Fjallraven Trousers and shorts pretty much solely for the past 5-6 years, in everything from -28 deepest darkest winter of Canada, to the murky wet winters of the Scottish Highlands to the extreme heats of summer in the Grand Canyon. Depending on how its treated or not if you dont require it, G1000 is a very adaptable and functional material. Its not the lightest but it is tough and hardwearing.
I've still got my first set of Vidda pros from 5-6 years ago. They still get used very very often for working around the house/car and fishing etc, and they still arnt showing any signs of wearing out, and I'm pretty tough on trousers.
