Hi all

So it's not exactly cold, yet, but I currently have summer gloves and on the chillier mornings last week, I've started to feel it a bit in my hands on my commute.

So I need some waterproof winter gloves. I suppose my budget is around £50, but happy to go over for a good pair.

Main thing is that they'll keep my hands relatively warm and dry for half an hour at 55mph.

Many thanks.

Use your summer gloves and get some of the Handlebar mitts, depends on the bike though, they look very gay on a CBR 1000, no idea how i know that :(

For 50quid you'd struggle to get a winter glove that's truly waterproof.

I picked up a pair of full-leather Weisse gloves (no idea of the exact model) at a local parts & accessories shop, for a mere £30.
100% waterproof, as they have a thick plastic barrier between leather and inner, quite thick especially on the backs, but warm enough.
They lasted me a 2-hour ride in -7ºC standing temperatures (which is -35ºC at 70mph, apparently)!!

got my self these alpinestars arctic drystar gloves last winter after i did my cbt. surprised how well they kept me warm, and water proof i fell in a big puddle everything aside from my hands were soaked

but around about spring i had stop using them as my fingers were getting too sweaty which became a problem whenever i took the gloves off as they are a pain to put on when the inside is soggy. used knox orsa gloves for the summer instead

I bought these a couple of winters ago, cracking gloves. I managed to get "last season's" gloves at the time, which meant they were £75ish.

Coupled with a pair of silk glove liners, my hands are super toasty, whatever the weather.

I've bought many pairs of supposedly waterproof gloves over the years and nothing has ever come close to muffs, heated grips and summer gloves.

So the consensus is, the best way to keep your hands warm is in a muff?

Problem is I can barely look at a muff without it getting wet harhar

Cheers all. Will look into my options. I'll look into mitts / muffs, but I leave my bike outside all day when at work, so won't these just get wet and oribble inside if it rains?

look at glvoes with dual pockets.

ie theres one hole you put your hand i nand your sourned by thick warm isnualtion. the other al lthat insulation is on the back/outside of your hand an on the palm area you just got rhe outer leather.

lets you pick an choose between warmth an feel.

ive seen peeps put carrier bags over the muffs and keep em in place with rubber bands, think oxford or someone also do water proof covers for em and you can hook disc lock reminder cables to them as well.

Could have done with my winter gloves this morning, 7 degrees and after 45 minutes on the bike at NSL speeds my hands were friggin cold. :(

Note to self: my goretex summer gloves are no good under 8 degrees.

Winter is coming...

So, used my el'cheapo Lidl winter gloves this morning... they aint great. Slightly too small, a palm that bunches up and after my 40 minute ride in to work, my finger tips were still getting cold. I do have bad circulation, but I think better gloves are needed. Heated grips not an option as I'll be changing bikes in the next couple of months.

Alpinestar 365's, best sports all year round gloves I've ever bought.

And heated grips help :)

I notice these have been discontinued and replaced with the "X-tra fit" version, anyone got the new version, are they as legendary as the old ones? Any deals going on the old version?
