Hi,

I have a sony P-200 that I'd like to waterproof so i can get some photos when i'm sailing etc, does anyone know of an effective way, or a case you can get to properly waterproof a digi cam?

Regards

SS

I can't find one, well i can, but it's really expensive! (Ikelite).

I'm looking for a waterproof case for my Ixus i5 for taking to the beach, and it should work out at under £35 :) not that this helps you ;)

I’m not sure about your camera but be careful when buying 'water' proof cases.

Most manufacturers do 2 versions - A weather proof case and a water proof case.
The weather proof case is usually much cheaper but cannot be submerged in water, i.e. it’s only splash proof.

I've had a bit more of a look, and it doesn't seem as though Sony have released a waterproof casing for the P200 :(

Wet proofing your camera

I made a wet/spray proof bag for my Camedia E10 when in the Antarctic last year from one of the tough clear plastic bags that trainers and the like are often sold with in.
Large rubber bands, snip off a corner for the lens to poke through. etc.,and asmidgin of imagination to sduit your particular needs
Worked a treat, as we dodged about in inflatables island hopping to photo the wild life. :D
