So it would seem my winter jacket and trousers have lost a little of its waterproofness (made up word but you know what I mean)...been looking at some waterproof spray recently cos my fishing umbrella could do with a recoat....so I am thinking is there anything you guys have used or could recommend. Looking for something that will do my biking gear and my brolly. There are quite a few at my local Towsure an Go Outdoors that cost less than a tenner each...but recommendations are always better.

Nikwax in one of its various forms, I redo my winter mountaineering kit in it. Lots of different types depending on the material your kit is made from.

Me and my house mate both use the nikwax spray on our waterproof gear, seems to do the trick.

can jeans be coated to help? i only have a short 10 mins commute and don't mind getting a little damp, but the jeans i wear at the moment seem to attract the rain!

Really....that doesn't sound good tbh.
I had seen that nikwax stuff, amongst others, think I shall avoid the one that advertises itself as tent and awning spray though :D

its been years since i used it,i cant remember if it was nikwax or another brand but it smelt of paraffin, best to test on a small area first

If I remember I'll give the nikwax spray a sniff when I get home as we've got a bottle in the kitchen.

nope got nik wax spray for my shoes/bike cover and the one you put in the washing machine for my jacket and such none of them smell of parafin
