What are people's general consensus on waterproof clothing?
Do you prefer having a second set of waterproofs or because we're in Britain have one set of clothing that isn't waterproof and just carry a waterproof onesie in a topbox / bag?
In summer - 2 piece waterproofs over a leather jacket and kevlar jeans. My winter textiles are just far too warm for summer rain. once it started to get down to single figures in the mornings, the textiles will come out (or leathers with thermal liners).
if you get a waterproof onsie/over clothes the jacket zipper/main zipper should not end at your crotch but off to one side on your thigh, no matter how waterproof something is a big puddle in your crotch by teh zip will leak.
Have two Aldi/Lidl-bought one-piece suits that have lasted years. Occasionally take one with if I'm wearing leathers.
Been wearing my w/p textiles this week, but not really fussed either way.
I've been wearing waterproof textiles since I passed the test in March. I'm on the motorway a lot so don't get too hot but when we had that 2 weeks heatwave I wished I had something lighter.
