I've been tasked with making a new Windows 7 image for the music labs at the college I work at. It also has to work without giving the students admin rights, and so all hell broke loose. :p

Basically, in Wavelab 6, no CD/DVD drive shows up in the list when trying to burn a disc unless I'm logged on as an admin. I've tried the drvreg.exe method, and I've set DAOSupported to 1 in the registry, but nothing's changed. Any ideas?

You could try setting the wavelab folders in program files and appdata with write access to domain users within the image. Then make sure all students have domain users. It has been known to fix some strange problems lack of admin rights in other applications.

Maybe the issue could be fixed with group policy.

It could be a driver permission issue.

After another couple of weeks of looking at this without any results, we're now looking at upgrading to Wavelab 7. Does anyone know if this issue is resolved in version 7?
