I've just finished cleaning the car with a combination of Autoglym shampoo, Resin Polish and Gloss Protector. It looks absolutely stunning and I'm really glad I shelled out extra for the kit but I was just wondering if it still needs a coat of decent wax on top of everything else? I've got some turtlewax paste that's always served me well if it does, but I just thought I'd check if it was needed after all the resins etc :p

A decent wax will preserve the finish and even make it look more glossy.
If you don't want to have to do it on a regular basis, why not try some Colinite 476 - fantastically tough stuff.

What is the finish like with Collinite? Do you know how it compares with EGP?

I like EGP, but would like something that is harder wearing.

much much harder, very shiny a great protector and very hard wearing, good layer of collinite should last a good month or two.

It's good, obviously not as glossy or wet looking as with a less hard waring polish, however for the time it lasts it's well worth a couple of coats on top of a concourse prep and polish. I.E. Claybar, Swirl correction (even if only with Scratch X then SRP) and a damn good polish.
