Way to detect which software used to create web page ?

ok guys - i need to use some products i guess and learn

mammalian - how does "is there any give away subtle comments in code for web pages that give away which product was sued to create them ?

"are you going to be telling someone you have done something yourself and then go and cheat?"

ok - i've just got your point - caught out by my own question !

but i only meant it out of curiosity not in an underhand way

once i've had a go at some software then experience will enable me to spot "things"

if i find anything exceptional i can always ask you guys
