not bad for 6mb sync

been like this for a few days now

to cap it off

the pings are well into the 100

for uk servers

that thats my OLG on hault :o

its defo zen

cus i just loged into the BT speedtester login

and did a test, getting full speed

go back to zens login and slow

So reboot your router so It pics up the speed again. If it does not get back to normal speed then phone zen to check.

there is something they can put on the line that stablelises your connection but it cains your ping. you can have it turned off, but can't remember what they call it :(

MW

Use there support features on the link posted earlier.

I recommend the exchange checker.

Also having speeds like that with Pipex but migrating as we speak to a diff provider :)

Interleaving?

ROFL

it isnt my end, it isnt my line or my router

its just zen having a boo boo

cus my line works perfectly fine with BTs login ;)

anyway speeds are better today

Are you still having this issue, if so pm me your username and I will look into it for you. I suspect that a low sync event has caused your BRAS profile to set to a low speed.

The BRAS profile is the part of the BT dslmax service that controls your overall throughput on your connection. Your sync speed can change a lot on a max line depending on the conditions and quality of your phone line. If your line synced up 3 times once at 7mbit and twice at 288kbps then your bras profile would be set at 288 and will remain at that speed for 3 days, at which time the next lot of sync events determine the next bras speed, this is controlled entirely by BT and the isp has no power over it.

I was just browsing through the forums after placing a new hardware order and saw this. I just wanted to check if you still had the problem (I work in zen tech support and am in work at the moment), and just mentioned the BRAS side that we see impacting a lot of max lines and sadly is beyond our power to change, if only bt's system allowed you to just transfer data at your sync rate it would make things a lot easier :D

rite now my ping for uk servers [ie jolt] is 50ms+ in dos

my speeds [connected @ 5.5mbit] is close to 1.5mb

doesnt matter anyhow ive already got my mac code

so no need to worry

From the sounds of things your line may be interleaved, if you have a customer portal account it might be worth while making a note of your lines history of sync events because if theres on the line changing isp wont resolve it so having that information would help get things resolved. You may find that things work fine when you move in, but its no harm having the information just in case its needed later on.

I'm with Zen & i've had 100% good quality the whole time. Its always fast & the line has never dropped once (obviously peak times are slow but you know what I mean) :)

Not interleaving, its on Fast path

also my router has been in sync for 5.5 for 3 weeks ;)

Interleaving isnt that bad, I've got it on my line as I live so far from the exchange. My pings are 50/60 most of the time playing CS:S
