Hey not sure if anyone is doing this already, but I've just discovered it and touch wood - it seems to be working!
http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=11615
It's basically a way of downloading a new bigadv work unit at the same time as you are uploading your completed one. So for some people this isn't an issue but for people like me on ADSL, it can take up to an hour to upload a bigadv unit. This represents about 2% processing time for me with TPFs of around 30min.
I was a bit dubious at first, I've only tried it in linux but it seems to be working, at it looks like it's there for windows too.
Here is the fah log from my last upload. You'll notice it completes at 04:28:01, it then goes through a load of stuff (it looks like that's normal but I'm not going to pretend I have any idea what's going on
), then it starts the next unit at 04:29:41!! Less than 2 min wasted!
I've checked on EOC and I dumped 69,634 this morning so it definitely uploaded fine, and so long as this next unit turns out ok *touches wood* I'll be a very happy chap
