Way to run one program (WIndows on mac)

If you aren't too fussed about particular functionality on the MSN network like video then Adium is a really nice OSX native app - I much prefer it to the official Windows apps.

The only way I can think of doing it without installing Windows (Bootcamp/Parallels/VMWare) would be to give CrossOver Mac a try, no idea if it runs MSN Messenger well. Parallels or VMWare Fusion would allow you to run Windows virtualized in OSX but it sounds like you've ruled those out.

I don't know why Darwine doesn't get more props. you'll need to have X11 installed, but it works really well - I had it when I was using uTorrent and it works really well

I think microsoft are planning to release a "proper" version of mac msn soon, one which isn't completely crippled compared to windows live msn. Don't expect it anytime soon, its been in the pipeline for ages.
I'm waiting for adium 2.0 myself, with proper video and voice chat support over msn, although it might be a long wait for that too.
