Ways to raise desk height

I'm trying to raise my desk by 3cm so it matches the height of the chest of drawers next to it.

It's corner desk made from furniture board (18mm thick) with 2 side boards as legs and a corner joint (see below).

Originally I thought just buy some wood and attach with metal plates but I don't really have the tools at the minute to cut the wood to size (don't want it sticking out too much). Ideally I want some adjustable feet that I could screw to the side of the board as its not really thick enough for those standard adjustable feet which drill in.

Any ideas on the easiest way to do this?

Sounds daft, but is it the correct for you when using it regardless if it's a little too low when compared to the chest of drawers?

I'd take usability over neatness.

Without seeing a photo of the desk and exactly how it's mounted, I'd probably pop to the loca timber yard, get a few 3cm square lengths of wood, cut to length by them and then just pop them between the sideboards and desk itself.

Its one of those niggling things, due to it being a corner desk I tend my catch my arm on the chest of drawers top edge. Plus the desk is a bit low anyway so will be nice to raise it a tad.

Found some adjustable feet but as you say it'll be easier to find a local place that can cut some strips for me to extend each leg, should look neater that way.

Plenty of options here :

Including side mounted fixing kits or fixings that mean the adjustable feet will go into the end of the 18mm board.

If the 18mm board is decent quality you should be able to fit m8 legs into the end which appear to need a t-nut that has a 17mm diameter. Alternatively use the side brackets but they are a bit ugly.

Adjustable feet can go very wrong at that height on their own. What I've done in the past is to fit timber risers to go between the feet and the frame of the desk. Just get them the height needed and the width of the frame and drill holes through for the adjustable feet.

Surely this isn't an issue when we are only talking about 3cm? The feet themselves are 1.4cm so there will only be about 1.6cm of thread exposed. With the 10cm thread option there will be over 8cm of thread going into the board.

Thanks for that link.

I was trying to be lazy and find a way to do it without taking the desk apart again but I'm a neat freak so I'll do it properly at the weekend. I'll get some wood cut that has a similar veneer and attach it to the legs.
