Guys,

I am wanting to put my GPU into my WC loop but after realising how expensive and ugly the blocks are it has put me off slightly.

What I was thinking of doing was selling the 295 and purchasing a 5870 which having looked at the blocks are a lot cheaper and better to look at.

The fan on my GTX295 is starting to really annoy me now so WC'ing the GPU is essential.

Or do I wait for Nvidia's new GPU's??

Get a 5870 and a block for it, or better, get a 5970, it'll save on water cooling block price because the fans don't tend to be too bad, and for some reason the 5970 seems to be easier to find in stock than the 5870

A 5870 won't give you any sensible performance increase, if at all. Assuming you can sell your GTX295 for £275 after postage (and that's not unrealistic) then you'll spend an extra £75 for a 5870 and then about another £60 for a waterblock) so it'll be £135 extra for a negligible increase in performance and a bit of quiet.

Leave it until the new NVidia cards come out, or at least until February, now is a truly terrible time to buy anything - Christmas tends to bump up the prices and they don't really drop down again until February because January sales tend not to be worthwhile for getting a discount on anything anyone actually wants to buy.

I wonder if there is anyone out there that will swap my dual pcb 295 for a single pcb 295....

You dont get if you dont ask:p

I have thought about this long and hard and decided to keep the 295 and buy a water block for it.

Now I just gotta find a dual pcb waterblock for the right price.
