Just finished my WC build and my pump is very loud imo.

Bought the X2O 750 Bayres/Pump (Black) V4 and the noise is a lot more than expected. Is there any way I can quiten it down?

I've heard that the pump will run in and quieten down after a few days/weeks but I'm not holding hope.

Could I possibly undervolt the pump to 7v or is it not safe?

I have had mine out of the case running a closed loop now for 10 days straight and it still loader than I would like. also as it is out of the case I have tried continually to get ALL of the air out by the pump/res just will not allow you to get it all out.

A friend of mime has the D5 version and its a totally different story, really quiet and it makes the 750 look stupid by comparison.

The DDC pumps don't usually make this amount of noise so I have no idea why they do in this 750 res

Did see a large air bubble the other day when I tilted it so I will spend more time getting all the air out tonight.

Could it be something to do with the kill coil I put in the res?

I have the same problem installed it on saturday and have bled the loop and each day I've tilted and rocked the case to no avail , sounds like the d5 is the one to go for to bad it costs a fortune! i was hoping it would have quietened down but doesn't seem to have changed at all it's more like a hum and i can feel the coolant moving through the tubing so it definitely is flowing .....anyone tried mounting it on rubber or some sort of foam insulation?
and does any one know if you can take the bays apart to inspect the pump?

mine is 100% pulling fluid. you could see the air move to start with and now tyo can feel it moving. then to be 1000% sure I but a single drop of Mayhems dye in the top. instant blue throughout the loop.

Still loud and IMHO still a terrible pump/res combo.

i will run it solid for another 10 days to see if it quietens down and if not, in the trash.

Really don't want to have to drain the loop, buy a new res AND pump and rebuild it.

I'll try put some rubber around it to dampen the vibration and let it run in for another week or so but it really is very loud compared to fan noise

Snap mate the last thing i want to do is to have to drain it ,flush it , and buy a new pump/res combo and buy new coolant! .....the only thing i've found is having a desk fan on my desk next to me drowns out the hum of the xspc 750 v4 hahaha

Don't bin it!

I need a spare junk pump and res for a rad cleaning loop :p :D

Make sure there is no vibration involved.
I always put some thin isolation foam under the bayres.
And my x20 was working quieter after a week.
Not much but always something.

Ok so doing my annual maintenance last night so had the res out. I've got this version and the older plexi one. I notice both start off noisy then dampen as I top it up (as you'd expect) and once the major bubbles are gone it is smooth (bust still audible).

What I did notice - and it has been alluded to by previous posters - is that depending on the surface I placed it on, the tone and volume of the noise changed dramatically. I just don't think the pump is dampened in the res very well in the shell (if at all).
