I'm planning on converting my current tower into a SFF and will be using a Lian-Li V350. CPU will be a E8500 on a DFI JR P45-T2RS. What I'm currently thinking:

Swiftech Apogee GTZ (LGA775) Waterblock
£49.99
(£57.49)

XSPC 200 Bay Reservoir & Pump - Clear
£21.99
(£25.29)

XSPC RS240 120mm Radiator - Black

£19.99
(£22.99)

Noctua NF-P12 Vortex-Control 120mm Quiet Case Fan - 3 Pin x2
£25.98
(£29.88)

XSPC 1/2" High Flexibility PVC Tubing - 1m x2
£5.98
(£6.88)

Feser One UV Reactive Coolant 1 Litre (Orange) x2
£13.98
(£16.08)

EK 1/2" Hose fitting x6

£11.94
(£13.74)

XSPC Tubing Clip For 1/2" Hose x6

£2.94
(£3.36)

Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound

£3.99
(£4.59)

£164.76
£189.47 inc VAT

This will be my first watercooled rig and so I'm looking for advice or any suggestions on the above spec, I don't have a set budget, I'm more worried about getting it right and not compromising on quality or performance.

Thanks in advance :)

I wouldn't get that res/pump - 200lph is low and that's without any restriction. if you can stretch to it, get this one which has twice the flow and three times the pressure which means it will maintain more of that flow when you start pushing against tubing, block and rad.

Other than that there's nothing particularly wrong with it but I will never buy another Swiftech block. They just don't deserve any more of my money but that's just personal.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. If I'm honest I only specced that pump/res because you can fit it in a drive bay and thought it would be easier to mount because of that and looks pretty cool :p

What about the XSPC Dual 750 Bay Reservoir & Pump then, rated 750 lph, although I'll have to check if I'll be able to get it in a Lian-Li V350, even though I'll only be using 1 hard-drive and 1 disc drive the specifications of the case state 5.25" x 2 & 3.5" internal x 2 so I'm guessing I wont be able to use a disc drive then? I'll have to use a pump/res like the one you suggested then and just have to work out where to position it and how to mount/secure it.

Also if it was you personally what CPU block would you buy? I have no idea whats good and whats not, I've seen a fare few people using the D-Tek Fuzion V2 i think, any good?

I don't like the XSPC pumps so I wouldn't get any of them. The one I linked too is perfect for a beginner. Look around on here and you'll find a few pics of these in cases which may help you with a plan.

As for blocks, the D-Tek Fuzion is very good but also consider the newer XSPC v3 or the OCZ Hydroflow

I have that res/pump combo and its doing me fine for cooling a 6300 @ 3.0ghz and northbrodge.

Nice and quiet to once all the air is out!

Cant comment on the xspc rad but I have the TFC xchanger and seems to cool well with 2 akasa ambers at 7v.

I don't doubt the XSPC pump/res will work, I just don't rate them when compared to other better options.

It is my first ever watercooling setup so I cant compare to others, which no doubt would be better. However for a begginner I found it very easy to use. Like everything, if you have the budget there are far better products out there, for the money I think its a good buy.

I think I'll scrap getting that and get the one MikeTimbers suggested, do I need to change any fittings/connectors or whatever with that one?

Also, I would get a better Rad but I've seen an XSPC 240 Rad in a Lian-Li V350, think I'm goin to have to check the dimensions and check out the Thermochill & Feser Rads as they seem much better.
