WCDMA, supported on O2??

WCDMA is a catch-all term for 3G technologies such as UMTS (the precursor to HSDPA), HSDPA and HSUPA.

The E61i supports UMTS and so does O2.

Depending on network and your device you could have in theory upto 14.4Mbs.

Ive only seen upto 7.2Mbs devices (like the Vodafone USB Modem), but for normal mobiles the 1.8Mbs is much more likely (dont know any mobiles that support higher than 1.8Mbs come to think of it)...

Ive got a Vario 3 and normally get over 1Mbs

The N95 and other recent N-series phones go up to 3.6 Mbps.

I haven't seen any 7.2 Mbps phones yet though.

I will be putting the E61i on the PAYG O2 tariff with the "unlimited" Web Bolt on.

Can I expect a decent speed through this? I mean to say is the PAYG service slower than pay monthly or anything?

Vodafone will be hitting 14.4 by the end of the year and will be trialling 28.8mbps soon after..
