I've recently retired my WHSv1 server and during testing and shuffling disks around to create new backup sets was a bit surprised to find one of my WD20EARS had reached 1.2M LCC. It's still going strong BTW
I've just lost one WD grean 1TB, WD10EADS. Had no problems with them til now. In fact I've had 33000+hrs use out of them with no tricks or tweaks.
The one I'm still using has 34000+ hours on it, and a LCC of only 4758.
I guess from reading this topic that I should be glad I don't shut down too often
Makes me wonder if the greens have a different firmware when installed in the 'My-Book' enclosures, that's how I bought them cos they worked out cheaper than just buying the bare drive.
struggling to understand why my 4 year old WD 2TB Elements (it's a green EARS inside) is getting 5.75 load count per hour, while some of yours are getting +10 times that value
I have windows 7 set to never turn off hard drives. I have recently been having an issue where firefox hangs for 30 seconds, the WD20EARS is not the OS drive (it is if I choose the other boot option).
I have a WD10EACS power on time 51771 LCC 9094 (Start/Stop Count 9094).
