WD received my drive on Monday of last week (emailed me a receipt confirmation)...How long is it before I can expect a replacement?

Making do with a 36GB raptor for my system drive atm and it's a limited (even though I store games/etc on another drive).

I get the impression from others here that it'll come when it comes. Once they've receieved the drive they don't bother updating the status pages until the end user already has recieved their replacement drive.

That's not always the case. Though what really annoyed me was when I sent an AAKS series drive off, and recieved a KS drive in return (i.e. had more platters).

What postal service was used? I used 2nd class recorded and lost the reciept. Drive still hasn't shown up so to the ether it went I guess..

I used first class recorded delivery and I've had a received confirmation email from WD (just over a week ago). Hopefully it won't seriously take them that long to sort it out :/

I was tempted by the advance RMA thing but I I'm a bit skint atm so having 80 quid earmarked against my account would make things a little tight until payday.

I tend to do Advanced RMAs, but once I put it through the standard way as I was in no rush - this took 3-4 weeks to be processed, even though it was sent to them via RMSD!

I got an email today saying WD had recieved the drive, a month after the email from the shipping company.

Did they swim over with it?!? :/
