I have a WD_BLACK SN850 installed in my PS5 but I don't even switch the console on these days - could I put the drive in my PC with no hassle? I'm assuming it's formatted for PS5 but would still be seen by Windows so that I could format for PC?

I've no idea how the PS5 formats its drives but I would remove any existing partitions with Diskpart in a command window on the PC. An NTFS partition can then be created in Disk Management without any hassle.

Would I be right in saying that there's no difference in performance whether I install the M.2 into the CPU slot or the PCH slot on a MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk board?

You're unlikely to notice, but theoretically CPU slots should be slightly faster and they don't have to share bandwidth to funnel through a small uplink between the chipset and the CPU.
