I've been messing around with my WDTV Live in an attempt to get a movie playing smoothly and in the process I seem to have "lost" the option to select my Synology NAS as the media server!?!?

I can still connect to the NAS via the "Network Shares" option but then have to select Windows shares and a couple of other options to get to my movies! :(

The NAS definitely used to show up in the "Media Servers" list and it worked from there!!

Anyone have any idea how I can "re-enable" it?? (all I was doing was swapping a few ethernet cables around in the router and switch so I've not changed any settings that I can think of!!)

if I remember correctly you need to add your shares to the "media library" first. Once added you then use the media library as the source (hit red button in "my videos")

Thanks for the replies guys!

How do I add my shares to the media library?? Do you mean within the menu's on the WDTV Live or within my NAS setup somewhere??

Right, I've managed to get "My Media Library" working on the WDTV but for some strange reason, the Diskstation is still not in the list of "Media Servers"!?!?!

I guess it doesn't really matter but it really annoys me when something works and then suddenly doesn't for no apparent reason!!!!
