I'm too unsober to post a properly coherent comment on this (but then, do I ever?) yet the point I shall try to make is that the PC, while we still have a discreet PC/Console market, will always be the future due simply to the flexibility of the PC, and not just in graphics. Take Minecraft for example, a simple game that people were able to buy and play before it was even out of Beta helping the developer to shape it as the game grew, something like this simply could not work with the current generation of consoles. Digital distribution is also something which has been spearheaded on the PC to the point where it's now more common than retail sales, this is something we will see on the next generation of consoles, maybe not a complete move over to digital distribution, but a very firm move in that direction. Developers are free to experiment on PC whereas they're much more restricted on consoles so we will always see new developments first.
