Has anyone had experience of these guys?

Im looking to get rid of my 2009 focus ST but Ive not had any luck selling it through other channels, what they are offering is £500 more than i was being offered as a trade in.

If you did, did it go smoothly or am I likely to get stung and not get what they are offering for the car?

From what I've heard, they offer a price and then when you take it there they will find any little thing to bring the price down even more.

well the general feeling is that when you take your car for the inspection the inspectors will use any small imperfection to knock your price down. There was an article in a newspaper that hardly anyone gets what the website says.

Im surprised you cant sell an 09 ST its hardly a wrecked banger that no one will touch

Might as well just trade it in and then try to negotiate as best a deal as possible. Providing info about webuyanycar.com that has been posted is accurate.

When they first emerged I had them quote me on my ancient Corsa I was driving at the time. £70 they said they'd give me, no doubt I'd probably end up having paid them to take it! :p Sold it for just over £300 in the end.

I can see both sides of this story, I mean, why would anyone say exactly what they'll pay for a car before they see it. Big company or private buyer. Of course they should knock money off for stone chips etc.
But personally I would sooner keep a car than sell to places like we buy anycar.com. The advert is annoying enough. And it's like the cash for gold places that you send off to, you'll always get offered less than a proper jewellers will give you.
Apart from insurance comparison websites, anyone advertising on cheesy needy tv ads will turn out to be a bunch of legalised robbers IMO.

I didnt buy it new, ive had it coming on a year though. Id lose about 3k on it with what they are offering.

I take it if they find fault and offer less I can refuse them anyway.

Oh yeh, you can say no, as much as they can. But there aren't loads of centres across the country. I expect they bargain on a lot of people not being rsed to take the car home again.
I guess it;s safe if you assume they'll give you up to 40% less than what it said on the website.
They're like vultures, they remind me of those companies that buy OAP's houses & let them still live in them until they pop their clogs. Taking advantage of the poor almost.

Lol, just read that article about them, affiliated with carcraft, I wont be wasting my time going to them if they on average pay 15%-25% less than the valuation they give.

I put my car for a quotation through them, £415? No thank you, privately the average amount is £1k. Still, I can see a purpose for them if you want a zero problem way of getting rid of the car albeit for a price!

Where else have you tried to sell your car? Have you done an online advert? If so, post it up - your advert might be a bit rubbish or something like that!

Ebay only so far, I think ill stick it in autotrader when the ebay add finishes, and if that fails Ill hang on to it. I do enjoy the car, Im just trying to save up for a new house so the money im spending on petrol and the payment would go a long way to speeding that up.

Because the price offered for the car should take into account its age and how many miles it has done and wear relating to this (within reason), no sane person would expect a car which has been driven to be as new, whenever someone pulls me up on this i point them to the price then show them how to locate the closest new car dealer.

When i was looking to sell my S type, the local jag specialist i have a relationship with (bought 2 cars off them and used the for service / repairs for 4 years) offered to sell it on commision basis to get me 6k. We buy and car.con offered 5.5k. I assumed this would drop to <5k after they done the hole picking thing. Had no interest from the bay or autotrader so ended up keeping it. Happened to write it off 3 months later and got 9k but not suggesting you stove it into a wall!
