This was watchable, but it's nowhere near Bring Her Back. The tonal shift to almost comedy was odd at the end, but it WAS quite funny.

Gladys actually gave me Roald Dahl vibes, really liked the character so I'm looking forward to the prequel and seeing her fleshed out.

Totally agreed that the chase scene was a bit silly and tonally lacking, her being taken down earlier would have been a much better fit.

Loved this - I thought it was the most satisfying ending to a horror film I've seen in ages but I can understand why the tonal whiplash might have spoiled it for some

Good to see the girlfriend from uncle buck in a film again too.

Didn't think it was deserving of the praise it's had. The part with the police talking to the aunt and the kid while the dad was there in the state he was was ridiculous. Best not to think about it to much after or you realise the holes

Really? That was the place you had a problem with?

Meh, it's one of the better film releases we've had recently.

No there's quite a few when you think about it after

I can suspend disbelief to a point, but the part where the cop took the druggie to the home and then went in alone. Nah.

I get the cop was had been through a lot, but he believed the druggie enough to go check out his story, i'm not saying he should have called a full response, but a radio message to dispatch, "heading over to x address to check out a tip on the missing kids" would have sufficed. Also, he was off grid for several hours during his shift!

Meh, I give it a 5/10 as it was entertaining in places, but overall felt more like a Channel Zero episode rather than some great horror film.

Finally watched and loved it, first horror / mystery in a while that had me hooked start to finish with how creepy it was for 90% of the movie, some of the jump scares wasn't needed and I did not expect that ending at all which while satisfying and over the top did a big tonal shift compared to the rest of the film.
