Is it me, or is it usually incorrect?!

The wife , child and myself have basically arranged our bank holiday around the appalling weather in our area which was supposed to be with us all day....it's just started light raining now @ 19:40. According to the weather prediction it was to lash down all day!!!
If they don't really know then wouldn't it be better to simply say that?
Thoughts?

Try a different model/forecast

I use Metcheck which is surprisingly accurate

and remember - trying to predict the weather is an incredible science, it's not as easy as watching the 6 o'clock news!

the BBC sucks a lot of the time, i went to go out the other day when it said it would be dry all day, and then it rained all day

It never used to be so inaccurate.

Maybe the weather has just become unpredictable?

I don't know if this is true or not but I heard

'The weather forecast is correct 70% of the time, if you say tomorrows weather will be the same as todays you'll be correct 70% of the time'

The weather Pro app on my iPhone is usually spot on with the weather, so when it said 20% change of precipitation for Monday morning here, I geared myself up for a ride out on the pushbike..

Needless to say I was awoken this morning with it absolutely lashing it down. :( and it's been pretty much off on rain all bloody day. ARRGHH

Back to work tomorrow, weekend a washout!

Do people find weather stations that you can get are worth it? I know they can't really predict the weather per-se but they do show the trend.
