A recent walk up Snowdon saw me leaving my rx100 in my pocket most of the time, as the weather was pretty horrific. I'm looking at weather sealed dlsr's (in addition to the rx100, not to replace it) but it looks like the option for weather sealed starts fairly high up in the ranges for both Canon and Nikon.

I've no qualms with buying second hand.. is there any option other than a Pentax k50 or ks2 when it comes to low cost weather sealed bodies?

get a cheap under water housing for the RX-100 problem solved! You won't need one of the ega expensive ones as you won't actually be going diving with it!

I did that - I got a Dicapac WP 570. However, it's hard to press any buttons, it's impossible to turn the dials, and you still get rain drops all over the lens bit, because there's no lens hood.

I reckon I'll actually use it underwater at some point, so it (hopefully) wasn't a wasted purchase though :)

you can see below the rain drops/smears I got - but I kept this picture as I liked the effect the rain had on it.
