Web browser volume control?

I know this can be done in Vista but is it possible to control the sound volume of IE or Firefox in XP?

i don't think so. i don't actually know but i'm pretty sure it's not possible. as you know, all (old) windows apps are lumped together under "wave" and i doubt it's possible to for it to differentiate.

vista can do it because it's audio system has been rebuilt from the ground-up apparently.

Ah well.

It's just a pain in the butt when a website blasts out music (like MySpace) and there's absolutlely no control over it. The only program I wan't to hear is Media Player. :rolleyes:

If you're using Firefox, install Adblock Plus. Stops it completely.
