Web cam as security cam?

Anyone offer any options on this?

I want to use my webcam as some form of secirity software, where I can have it running in the background, recording everything that goes on all the time in a particular room.

Not going to come up with any reasons, other than tryign to catch the kids out more than anything.

Just wondering what software could do what I want it to do?

I also need it to pause when there is no movement by teh way, so it does not waste HD space, and I need to leave it on 24/7 too... Just in case.

Thanks. However, it seems to only do single snaps... Sure it has Motion detection and so on, but after some messing about, I decided that its not what I had in mind at all sorry.

What I want, is more of a thingy that records and when there is no movement, to pause...
As soon as there is.. It starts recording again.
And this to be in a video file, or files. Audio is a must too

Oh Jizzbox! - I installed it, it looks very comprehansive, and it may be the one I am after, however, it does not see either of my cameras, irritatingly, YawCam saw it just fine, but not this one.

That said, my cameras are cheap and nasty ones and so maybe its time to upgrade.
