well i am off to work away again and the wife wants me to buy a webcam so her and my little one can can wave at me while i am in the middle of the north sea....any recomendations.........cheers for replies
 
Sony eyetoy - might have been designed for the PS2 but works great on a PC and is cheap to boot or the QuickCam Pro 5000.

I bought my sister the eyetoy for £8 and its easily as good quality as my 5000.
 
The higher end logitech cams are great quality and work in very low light, depends how much you want to spend though as you can get a cheap cam for peanuts.
