Hi Guys,

I've been asked to build a website for a company after someone recommended me to them. I've had a few meetings with them and I'm not going to start work for another few weeks, which is good.

I've read horror stories in the past of people like me getting in to all sorts of bother because they didn't have a contract written up. Well, I've only ever done work for friends and family before, so there's been no contract. I feel I should be having one for this work though.

So that leads me to my question. What sort of stuff should be going in it? Is it worthwhile finding a template on the internet and adapting it to suit myself? Or should I be writing this out all on my own because the ones on the internet suck? I did Google a few templates, was quite surprised by how much they all differed!

So yes, any help from people who have experience will be much appreciated!

Cheers.

The infamous "killer contract" is a pretty good place to start - depending on the exact project scope, you may to add in some of your own terms though - see Killer Web Contract (gave it an seo link as it's worthy of one :) )
