web forwarding, how long does it take?

ive got a domain with 123, ive 301'd to my page but it still shows the 123 page, ive double checked the forwarding page is correct, been over 24hours now, how much longer? :confused:

If you haven't changed DNS and it's a simple 301 redirect then it should be instant. I'd make sure everything looks correct in the control panel and then contact 123-reg to see if there is an issue.

My last one took nearly 3 days, but had to email them before it worked though.

have'nt touched anything else, noticed they have a live chat, may contact them tomorrow, cant do any harm.

Have you flushed the dns cache on your computer?

ive done F5 and CTRL+F5 if its either of those.

Open the Start menu.
Go to Run.
If you do not see the Run command in windows, search for "run" in the Search bar.
In the Run text box, type: ipconfig /flushdns
Press Enter or Return, and your cache will be flushed.

Try this, crawl the domain names and see if what you get returned.
http://www.dollardns.net/cgi-bin/dnscrawler/index.pl (leave defaults, just put in your name)

so, ive manage to get it so when i type my domain it forwards to my webpage but it display my web address and not my domain, ive 301 forwarded is it anything to do with that?

That's because it's a redirect. What you're after is 'Framed Forwarding' (usually what's is known as; no idea what the actual technical name is) which essentially iFrames the 'redirect' address keeping the desired domain in the address bar.
I believe 123-reg offer that feature with their domains.

It's called domain masking. It should have worked straight away if you are using cpanel to configure the masking.

Are you using cpanel or another control panel? 123 reg used too but just checked and there isn't an option (unless it's automatic) and there could be a problem at - http://lifestylecouriers.phpbbhosts.co.uk/index.php somewhere stopping the masking.

I did a test in cpanel and it does it automatically.
