Web Hosting Help Needed

I'm a complete noob about this so be gentle with me! My mate has just set up a business and wants to set up a website for it. What does he need? Does he need a company to host the site or can he use the webspace that comes with his ISP (BT)? Are there any freebie hosting sites?

Depends what he wants on the site really.

If its just a few static pages then his ISPs hosting should be okay. But if he wants any dynamic pages he'll probably need some real hosting. If he does check out...

Free hosting would be bad for any company. But go for a UK host for total reliability. If it's a small site and it's not going to be used much then www.tsohost.co.uk would be a very good option. At £15 a year they are very reliable and great uptime plus great support.
