Normally best to contact hosts directly to check, but for a site like this which is essentially a webpage and a few photos, you don't need anything fancy so I'd expect you'll be fine...unless you save the pictures as .BMPs :D

yeah, it will be more than enough for ya. At the moment we have a very active gallery, (google images has picked it up), with about 500 visitors a day. No problem, though.

Very good host is vidahost. I manage three accounts with them. 2 starters, and one reseller.

starter is very good. I don't know what server it is ... but it's very nippy indeed.

btw, the reseller at vidahost is damn good, but hey ... that's professional, business, hosting.

thanks guys. :) that makes it easier then. now i need a professional looking website to go with the name lol. ive got a list of html coding sites.... :(

those doorway pages are a bit old-hat

when someone arrives you want to show them content. Like, for example where you've been with your bike, what new mods have you got for it, a few pictures, links to a gallery etc.

so see if you can get a nice banner, stick that at the top

start filling it up with a mixture of text and graphics and links to your subpages.

well, that's what I'd do

emailed them when you said.... and they've replied already telling me no problem! hows that for service! lol :) said they use SCSI raid servers now apparently. :)

the good thing about vidahost is that the people who run it are all too willing to help.

some ISP's have been blocking port 25 for outgoing emails (notably AOL, and Orange) in our area. So, unless it went to an AOL or Orange email server it wouldn't get sent. Big problem!!

So, I rang up and talked to them and it was "no problem", and opened a different port on their server (that night!) so that we could send emails.

Now, the difference comes in when we also have a couple of ecommerce sites running on a windows server, with a different company. Same problem ... can't send out emails. I ring up ... "can you please open a new port for the email, our AOL is blocking port 25" ... "err no" .. "why not?" ... " it's the server". Useless.

Summary: I like vidahost because they go out of their way to help out.

I'd better stop, coz I'll get done for business promotion (even though I'm nothing to do with them)

Sorry help, you don't know why at the moment, but this has made me chuckle this morning. :D Good choice of host, I have about 6 sites with Vidahost now and the service is nothing short of immaculate.

i assume everyone with a server uses scsi but it doesnt really mean much to me having never owned one. :)

Sorry help, i wasn't meaning that. I'm the biggest newbie on here and would never take the mickey like that. My apologies if i offended. :)
