Hi guys. Looking for some web dev info if I may!

I'm considering having a single page website created to provide low cost Crystal Reports off site consultancy and development (Something to do alongside my current full time job).

Onto the questions:

1) How much would I be looking at to create a single page (I have no graphical design or html skills!) - Domain and hosting is already taken care of.
2) I've heard mention of before a website where you can post dev requests and people can "bid" for the work, any recommendations on sites for this?
3) Assuming I get the site done how do I go about getting it high in googles searches?
4) Are the pay per click schemes worth it where you sign up for certain keywords?

1) Depends on the complexity of the site's code and design. Could be anywhere from £xxx to £x,xxx.

2) Hire a Coder?

3) That would require SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) work, which can also cost a lot, depending on what you want and the keywords for your site.

4) Adwords is good. Not used it myself yet, but it's extremely popular.

To start with I'm thinking the simplest of simplest one pagers so nothing fancy! Min of £100 then?

Am I better off seeing how the site appears in the search before optimisation or should I make that a condition of its design?

Doesnt seem much going on at the hireacoder site? Im sure there are other sites like that but with more people on!
otherwise source someone buy google and having a look around!

Cheers for the reply, would I expect whoever creates this page to do all things such as logos, styles, links etc or would I need to source logos/graphics elsewhere?. I would obviously provide the content for the page!

So what info would I need to provide to the prospective developer? Content? Concept? Graphics?

If you want a designer and developer then you need to state that.

You can produce the graphics yourself but if you want a professional job then it might be better letting someone else do it.

You will need to tell them what you are after , logo, website, back-end as well as design including the coding for the site
