Hellooo, recently been trying to connect to a new wireless network from a wireless USB. The USB stick is Netgear and the hub is BT.
So far I have managed to connect everything with the correct passphrases (I assume) as I can download music. But I can't access webpages trough mozilla OR internet explorer and I can't sign into msn.
The solution is probably really simple but I have NO IDEA why this is happening! Please help as nothing seems to work. Thankee.

Where are you downloading music from for a start? Local network share or the internet (if so what app)

Confirm you have a good network at least as far as the router, goto http://192.168.1.254 and see if you get the bt home hub setup page (Default IP for bt homehubs)

Next try start > run > type: cmd > press enter
You will now have a command prompt. Run:
ifconfig /all

from that command prompt and paste/type out/take a picture of the result, this will let us see whether you are missing vital bits of config such as DNS servers or default gateways.

It is also worth checking in options / preferences for IE/FF to see if there are any old proxy settings left configured.

Hello, thanks for replying!
Sadly I have done all he above, writing this on a friend's laptop - nothing is missing from the ipconfig screen, and the bt home hub site works and says I am connected.
IE and Firefox have both been checked and they are not on old settings...I am very puzzled.
Ares is the program I use.

What IP details are you using?

IP: 192.168.1.something
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.254
DNS: 192.168.1.254
