web server

Hi all,

Ive been looking at tinkering with EVE killboards, the install says i need:

Webserver (apache)
PHP 4.0.9+
MY SQL 3.23+
GD 2 or higher.

Now instead of spend ages looking around for free webhost that has all these and doesnt have massive limitations i am considering builfing my own server.

Ive an old PC just sitting here not doing anything and i was wandering exactly what i would need for making a webserver? Never done anything like this so the more info/links/suggestions the better

Looks like all you need is an install of Debian Linux and a read at this (or use any of the other "perfect setup" guides there for other Linux).

I use - http://www.devside.net/download/wd-guide/ then add on any extras I need (GD2). Runs on Windows too.
