Web site to test the internet

Is there a web site out there that lets you test the internet connection for example log on to aweb site and it will test the internet connection until i ask it to stop?

You generally ping something like microsoft.com, yahoo.com or google.com to test connectivity. I wouldn't do it for extended periods of time though. Is it a short term thing?

To test the you can access the internet? Wouldn't that be any of the millions of web pages out there? When you want to test the connection try going to an address, if it works your connected, if it doesn't then your not, simples

i have some clients who tell me when they are on the net for a while or some time it cuts them off or it comes up with page can not be displayed. i know of the site speedtest.net but i wanted something like that but it would go on for say 20mins or so and give me so some of log file afterwards

Just run a ping with the -t switch.

Once you cancel it, you'll see the number of dropped packets.
