Girlfriend is going away to the US for work for a while. We will be keeping in touch by webcam. Could you guys suggest a really good one? Any tips/suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX - excellent budget cam, priced at just over £20 if you look around.

Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 - you should be able to pick this up for just under £40, very good video/audio quality, and if you are going to be using it a lot, well worth the extra over the STX...

Used in conjunction with VSee or ooVoo will give you excellent results.

I bought a Microsoft NX-6000 LifeCam to use with my GF who is at uni in Bristol. It's actually a laptop webcam, but I wanted something very small (which it is) and have it blutac'd on to one of my TFT's.

The picture is very clear to me and appears very smooth. The supplied software is quite basic really (and not needed at all). I only installed it to play around with the silly features like making it look as if your wearing pink sunglasses or a silly hat. It does give you the option to move the focus around though, which is handy where its sitting on my monitor so I can appear to be sitting directly infront of it.

All in all a good cam, and can be had for £35 on OCUK
