Anyone able to help me out here ?
Wifey speaks to her sister ( in dubai ) on skype
the webcam is a MS Lifecam VX6000, but of late the mic on the cam will not pick up any sound or isnt recognised.
Also, if I try and test it via the lifecam software, it works ok until i try and make a recorded clip, then it freezes up completely.
Ive tried downloading drivers from MS site, but the estimated time to download is something like 8 hours !!!

any ideas other than buy a new webcam ?

Have you tried going into Skype,go to tools - options - audio settings.
Maybe your mic setting was changed.This used to happen to me a few
times last year.If your mic is installed/working right it should be there
under the options.Worth a try.
