webcam software?

i've been given a usb webcam but no disk, so i was wondering if there was any software i could use to test it out?

9/10 you should just be able to plug it in and win xp should pick it up, then look in My Computer and you should see it and click it and play etc

If you know what the webcam is, you should be able to find software on the internet

i don't know what make it is

i'ce looked at loads of them on the web and nothing looks like it, it does power up as the light on it work but when i try to get a pic through various software i get a message saying "no device found". i've been reliably informed it works but the friend i got it from is in France for the week so can't get hold of him

i'll get a pic of it and see if anyone can help me out with the make

Looks very much like a debranded Odys Digi Eye II Pro to me. You can download the drivers here

Edit: That said, it also looks like a Sumvision Aluminium Web Camera. They don't have driver downloads on their site, but if it's the same hardware as the Odys, I assume the same drivers will work

it does look like it but the drivers don't work with it :confused:

i can't seem to find any Sumvision drivers either
