Webcam trouble

Hi i am currently doing a cheapish cctv system foy one of my dads bars, i have bought a cheapish pc form overclockers, added hd and xp, usb hubs etc. anyway. i have also bought 9 webcams here , from overclockers. now when i connect more than one webcam it wont let me view or record both because it says the device is already in use so is there a way to get around it?

i think it is doing it cus it is accessing the same drivers.

You will need specialist software to control all nine cameras. Just plugging them into 9 usb ports wont do it. As most software is only setup to use one camera. Maybe you could write some code to use all nine at the same time, but you would be better off writing code to take a still picture from each camera in turn then start all over again.

You could also search the Internet and see if anyone else has designed something. What software are you currently using?
