I need a webcam, a good one. Not some cheapo one. Im looking to spend 49.99+. Ill be speaking to relatives abroad and locally, and would like good picture quality and some decent sound/mic capabilities.

Ive been looking at the Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 and the VX-6000 and also the Logitech Quickcam Sphere. Anyone have any experience of either of these or anything better?

Pan, tilt and zoom functions would be nice but are not essential.

I think you got the shortlist right there. I'm looking for one as well and from what I seen the MS VX-3000 @£30.00 seems about the best buy. the only thing that is doesn't do what the others can do is shoot video clips? i.e you can't make a video and then email it. .

I could be wrong but thats what my research is telling me :)

I used the sphere cam awhile back, very clear picture in bright conditions and the facial tracking software was spot on. Had no onboard mike though, not realy a problem as it's no trouble to bang one into the soundcard.
