webdesign home learning course???

hi all, has anyone completed a web designer home learning college course where at the end you get a qualification for the course?

maybe something to do with dreamweaver is what im after.

any suggestions??

not being funny but I don't think these web designer courses hold up to much with regards to qualifacations, known a few people that have done them and all they get taught is how to use DW and tables (which we all know is the stench of satan :D ). Personally I wouldn't bother tbh, go get some decent books, try and create a portfolio maybe doing some free websites for local businesses then you may get some work.

If you follow tutorials on a website like www.hmtldog.com and then have a play around with your own designs in your free time, you can build up a portfolio or websites you have made, even you can make some templates for a company - this you can list in a cv or experience; as you have created a portfolio of websites even if they are only for your own use.

It would be far more useful to state that you can comply with (x)html and css web standards than "i can use dreamweaver me 'cos this sticker says so" :).
