Im looking for a product as similar to Bomgar as possible without the same price to make the offering of remote support really easy. Webex and Logmein do these, webex I find a bit heavy and a bit complicated on the user end and I dont really have experience with logmein supports offering but will look into that

Any others out there that people know of? I want users to visit a website, type in a code and then my team can connect to them for remote support. I have been using Bomgar and its excellent but very expensive so wanted to have a look at what else is available before renewing

team viewer requires too much input from the end user or has to be fully installed rather than just run as/when needed

yes but all this team viewer and LMI stuff requires the user to follow a number of steps.. with Bomgar and GoToAssist (thanks for that recommendation I have started a trial) they simply visit a website and type in a number and they are done - very easy and very effecient process

They're all pretty much identical.

Does GotoAssist still require the client to have Java installed?

Major downside if the client doesn't have admin rights, not to mention the security issues.

not sure, I had that problem with Bomgar with a pervious company.. the type of users I am supporting now will more than likely have local admin rights

We moved from LMI Rescue to TeamViewer and can't say it's a problem.

Direct the user to our own support website, they click the link for the Client > Run > Run and then give us the ID / password.

For customers who we actively support, we leave a copy of TeamViewer QuickSupport on their desktop so there's nothing to download.

I was up against this a few months ago and did some trial periods with a couple different softwares: Teamviewer and ScreenConnect. Since Bomgar is probably the most expensive remote support software out there pretty much anything you go with is going to be cheaper. I was trying to get away from the monthly payments of Saas software- both ScreenConnect and Teamviewer are one-time purchases. I still don't have approval from my higher authority but plan to switch once we get our budgets worked for our department.
