Can anyone recommend me a half decent site builder / tools
ive been watching tutorials for joomla, but i feel this is getting to complex for what your asking it to do, and im sure there are similar products that are not as complex.
Any suggestions ?

Don't bother with Joomla, it's absolutely awful in my opinion. - It's way too complicated to the point you'd actually need training to use it.

Try WordPress or Drupal and ignore people who say WordPress is for blogging because it's an amazing SEO tool with the addition of an SEO plugin.
WordPress would be the most favoured option but you may have to spend some dosh on a decent website-like theme unless you know PHP and HTML.

Ok, according to the above you had better ignore this post!

It depends on what you want the site to do and what features you will need. There is no one size fits all, unfortunately.

Wordpress is good at what it does, but the simplicity, ease of use, expandability (plugins) can be it's biggest downfall and slow the site down in a big way. Some of the plugins are poorly coded and not optimised. Which can lead to problems with your host if you are on shared hosting.

There are systems out there for free which come with all the bells and whistles you need a big bunch of plugins to make wordpress do. Things like modx cms, xoops, Drupal, and impress. All have there good and bad points. Spend a little time looking at the options before making that final decision.

I know there will be another bunch of Wordpress posts that follow but my advice after 13 years doing this stuff is look at those mentioned above first then if you feel wordpress is right for your site then go with it.

I'd go with wordpress, but it's what I know....I also did a few sites with cms made simple, and it was pretty good. Just echo the above, decide what you need and google around....
Wordpress gets a load of support because it's well supported etc.
