Hi
I want to create a top quality website to replace my current uni page, what free ware is the best out there for OSX? Something along the lines of frontpage but hopefully 100 times better!

Something like Frontpage (cringe) where its a WYSIWYG editor then iWeb is perfect. If you have a Mac with iLife 06 then it will either already be installed or on your recovery/install DVDs.

skEdit, its not free, $25 but well worth it.

Its the best authoring software i found as it has the ability to update your actual website everytime you save it, pain in the ass for bandwidth but its a nice feature, really nice to use aswell and I havent had one problem with it :)

+1, I use it with Transmit - and I'm completely sorted. I reckon it's probably not what the OP is looking for though.

Im using textmate for my ruby/rails webdev and its really nice but not free either unfortunately.

how do you get skedit as default editor in Transmit? Cant see it in the list

OSX comes with one of the most advanced, feature packed and even better free editors you can get. open up terminal and type vim. I swear by it, I use it to code php, perl, python and ruby, it has ftp, subversion and cvs capabilities and even has it's own scripting language. :)
