Website auto login?

Is there any way to create a shortcut that automatically logs into a website that needs a username & password?

My Netgear router status page, for example, comes up with a box asking for username & password - can I bypass this with a command line type shortcut?

You can do it i'd assume be using parameters in the address bar.

eg www.domain.com/login?user=xxxx;pass=xxxx

however that wouldn't work for the browser pop up login boxes routers usually show.

Not sure if it works on pop-up window logins. But opera comes with a feature called magic wand (i think thats what it's called). You type in your use name and password, for example on these forums. Then whenever you next need to log in, you press ctrl+enter and it logs you in automatically

Thanks - It is indeed a popup box, no joy there, and I'm using Firefox so no magic wand for me!

just save the password then, that way you will only have to press enter on it.

If it's a htaccess password box then:

http://username:[email protected]/
