I'm a member of a community gaming / multigaming clan, and I've literally had enough of the portal software we have been using for nearly 2 years. Basially its vbulletin with a few added extras. I.e. vwar.
What we're after is basically a much more professional looks and featue packed website.
- CMS system backbone
- News (catagoried: team news, scene news, upcoming events, etc)
- Matches (results pages, internal players match signups etc)
- Achievements
- Files
- Full member profiles, division info
Basically, very much like www.junk52.com.
I realise we have 2x options:
- Pay for someone to do this for us (Had a quote of 450euros inc. gfx and code and is way too much for us really)
- Get a open source CMS system backbone (www.mamboserver.com) and see if I can get someone to do the graphics and a few tweaks on top of that. Is this option viable???
I would really appreciate your opinions on which would be the best option to go for. Also if there is any web guys that would like a crack at this for a reasonable price?
