For a horse-racing website/blog, i'm really struggling to find shades of green and brown that actually look good together.

Can you recommend any colour schemes or can you point me to any decent websites that may help me out on this subject?

Cheers. :)

Cheers guys. Those sites will be very useful for me.

I also had the idea (not sure if i'm being slightly too ambitious) of having a grassy background with an imprint of a hoof in it. Would this be easy to do as my design skills aren't too great.

Something like this is what i want. Where's the best place to find decent quality backgrounds/textures and whats the best way to make sure that it doesn't look badly tiled? I'm guessing i would need to edit parts of the original grassy image in PS.

Finally, is it best to have a fixed background or a scrolling one like the website here?

Good links, thanks.

It would be easy to use that sort of background, but choosing the right image is tricky. If it's repeating, it has to repeat nicely and be big enough so it isn't clear what the repeating unit is. If it's stationary (you move down the page and it doesn't) you still have to worry about width, getting it to fit the screens of your target audience.

i have the colour schemer application and i can't recommend it enough. excellent bit of s/w
