Hi - I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but I'll try you guys first!
I currently live in China, in a city called Qinhuangdao. About a week ago, when browsing some random stuff online, I stumbled accidentally into a place which had a large banner advert at the top of the page, saying something along the lines of "Meet new friends in Qinhuangdao".
Am I being paranoid, or is it possible to find out somehow where you live, maybe from finding out your internet provider, or something? Qinhuangdao is a very small city, where almost no-one speaks English. My computer is English, as is the Windows XP software I'm using. However, my ISP is Qinhuangdao based.
I wish I could find the website again, but I closed it too quickly. It was something like Friends-online or something like that.
